Policies and Fees

Ah, the question of money, somehow there is never enough to go around. But yes, you can afford this. We have done our best to create options to fit every budget, just give us a call to discuss our sliding scale.

One big question is whether or not to use your health insurance.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of health insurance in the therapy world because you are then giving your insurance company far more personal information than necessary. But I understand that we don’t all have rich grandmas who can pay for weekly sessions so if you would like to use your insurance, we will try to make it easy for you.

Currently I am in-network with Johns Hopkins EHP, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Healthcare (UBH, MDIPA), Magellan, MHN, APS, Aetna, Value Options and Cigna. Using your in-network benefits is much like going to see your doctor in that you are only responsible for paying the co-pay. I will get a credit card number from you at the first session that will be used to automatically pay the co-pays for each session. This makes it easy for both of us to get down to the therapy and not waste time on business practicalities. If you would like to pay with cash your are welcomed to do so at the time of the appointment. I will then bill your insurance for the remainder of the bill.

If you are not with one of the insurance companies that I am in-network with there is a good chance that your insurance company will reimburse you using out-of-network benefits. Generally, this means that you would pay my full fee and then submit a bill to your insurance company to reimburse you for some percentage of the fee. Simply contact your insurance company to find out what their policy is regarding out-of-network providers. If you have any questions about this, just let us know how we can help. Of course, if you would like to keep your family business to yourselves and pay out of pocket, we will do our best to make therapy affordable for you.

 Late Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time.THe full fee will be charged for all cancellations  occuring with less than 24 hours notice

I will waive the 24 hour cancellation policy one time per calendar year. If I am able to fill the appointment time you are off the hook as well. All subsequent late cancellations, regardless of illness or emergency, will be billed for the full appointment fee.
